Schiphol VIP Lounge (2008)

Schiphol VIP Lounge
While working for Inside Outside I was asked to develop an entrance carpet for the new VIP lounge at Schiphol Airport.
The entrance was very grey and corporate. Not really an inviting entrance for a VIP lounge. My idea was to create a transfer from the outside to the inside.
With enlarged photo's of dutch grass I created a graphical composition of blocks. The carpet is partly covering a wall, enhancing the acoustics, but also giving a natural and warm feeling when you enter. Further on, in front of the elevators, the carpet on the floor reflects in the large windows, connecting the inside to the outside again.
